Making a purchase of door knobs

Once the person has finally settled on the door knobs as the materials that they will use in the construction of their home, the next stage is to make a purchase. Of course there are many different shops that offer different deals for the people that want to buy the product but one has to find the shop that most closely fits their plans.

When it comes to door furniture there is quite a big range of products that go from the cheapest items to some of the more luxury products. As some marketers say, it is only the financial means of the person that will prevent them from getting the very best out of the range products. There is a danger with having so many options because the person can become confused about the priorities.

From the double pocket door to some of the other products the person can literally indulge every whim within reason. The market is ready to indulge all the whims that the person may feel appropriate and the cost will be varied depending on the premium that is attached to the product. In any case the market is constantly expanding the product range.

Types of Hinges

Saturday, May 1, 2010 posted by admin 4:10 pm

Without door furniture, doors are just like any other wood plank.  Door furniture includes things like hinges, door knobs, door handles, latches and more.  Hinges are one of the most important pieces. Hinges, actually, hold the doors to the frame.

There are various types of hinges to choose from. Some common types of hinges are

Butt Hinges

Available in steel and cast steel, brass and cast brass, these are used for fitting any kind of door except fire doors.

Rising butt hinges

Some doors are required to get raised when they open to clear things like carpet. Raising butt hinges help the door to get raised.  These hinges come in pairs of right and left handed sets.
T-Hinges

These hinges are made from steel and galvanized.  These are suitable for ledged and braced doors and gates.

Strap Hinges

These are stronger than the T-hinges and best thing for the large heavy gates or garage doors or front doors.  These are fitted with a coach bolt and screws.  It also has an open pin to remove or place the door.
